Jayne Parrish, bs, ryt200
Jayne Parrish moved to Martin when she was 8 years old. Jayne graduated
Summa Cum Laude from UTM in 1990 with a BS in Business Administration.
For over 20 years she has worked in Real Estate.
She is a Real Estate Appraiser and a Real Estate Broker.
Jayne is married and has 2 children and 5 grandchildren.
Having suffered with severe low back pain for over 30 years, she had tried many things to
get some relief. Nothing has helped her more than Yoga. She had tried it before with
videos at home and with a couple of teachers. But her first Therapeutic Yoga Class
with Kate Healy decreased her pain significantly.
She knew she had found the answer to her prayers. She took classes for about 7 months
and then began Yoga Teacher Training. Jayne graduated from the
Martin Yoga 200 Hour Teacher Training Program in March of 2017,
and joins the other Martin Yoga Staff members as one in only a handful of
Nationally Registered and Yoga Alliance Accredited Yoga Instructors in West Tennessee.
Initially, Jayne just wanted to learn everything she could to help herself.
But, then she realized that she wanted to share what she had learned and help others.
Jayne likes to say that she does not teach pretzel yoga.
She prefers Restorative Yoga which involves stretching,
relaxing and healing areas that hurt.
Jayne teaches our Noon Restorative Class on Thursdays from 12-1pm.
She also teaches our Saturday Sampler Class on rotation
with Kate and the other Teachers.
