Kate has been practicing Yoga for Better Health since 1979.

She has been teaching Classical and Fitness Yoga since 1985,
and Therapeutic Yoga since 1997.

Kate has been listed on the National Yoga Alliance Registry of Accredited Instructors
since 2000

She is qualified to certify new teachers, as well as offer
Yoga Alliance approved CEU’s for ongoing instructors.

Kate has also earned more than half the Graduate Credits required for a
Masters of Liberal Arts from the University of Pennsylvania
in Sanskrit and the History of Yoga Philosophy in early India (1700BCE-500CE).
She plans to eventually complete her Masters Degree and work
towards a Doctorate, focusing on an aspect of Yoga’s lengthy history as a Medicinal Art .

Dedicated to communicating the ancient healing benefits of Yoga to her modern day
health conscious students, Kate keeps on top of research in the emerging field of
Medical & Therapeutic Yoga, applying proven methods of instruction
for consistently positive results on the mat.

She is also the mother of three beautiful children,
all of which have benefited tremendously from the practice of Hatha Yoga.

Kate discovered Yoga on a wind swept beach on Florida’s gorgeous Gulf Coast.
During the years her Father was dying of cancer in his 40’s,
Yoga Postures and Breathing helped Kate deal productively with the intense stress
of losing a parent as a young adult.

Wishing to share the benefits of regular practice with others,
she began teaching soon after her Father’s passing in 1985.
She dedicates her work to his memory.




Morgan Insco

Morgan Insco was born and raised in Dresden, TN.  She received her
Bachelor’s of Science in Engineering from Kettering University in Flint, MI
in 2011.  She works full-time at Marvin Windows and Doors, Inc. in
Ripley, TN as a Manufacturing Engineer.  

Morgan began her Yoga Journey in 2014, after her husband (then boyfriend) joked she couldn’t touch her toes, and sadly it was true. Luckily, she found
Martin Yoga, LLC.  Morgan started taking Yoga Classes from Studio Owner,
Kate Healy Dykes, when Martin Yoga was meeting at the Trinity Presbyterian Church in Martin. After a few classes, she discovered that touching her toes
wasn’t the goal of Yoga (although it is a great benefit), and decided to pursue Martin Yoga, LLC’s Yoga Alliance Registered 200 Hour
Teacher Certification Program to bring what she was learning to
family and friends, as well as to deepen her own personal understanding
of the poses, the breathing and the inner calm she received
from her Yoga practice.

Morgan really enjoys the stress relief and serenity gained from learning
to breathe properly and to truly relax. Her lower back is grateful for the
relief of tension and pain from hours of commuting and having to sit much
of the time at her day job.  Her logical ‘engineering’ mind took quickly
to the important anatomy  and alignment aspects of teaching Yoga,
especially for those who need more than a little help with re-gaining
lost flexibility and healing from injury or pain. However, Morgan’s
greatest enjoyment from Yoga arises from finding
the balance that regular Yoga practice brings to her busy, productive life.

 On June 30, 2016, Morgan graduated with Honors from the
Martin Yoga, LLC Yoga Teacher Certification Program and, as a result of graduation from this Program, become listed in the Yoga Alliance National Registry of Certified Yoga Instructors.  She will become one of only a handful of West Tennessee Yoga
Instructors that possess the National Minimum Standard of
200 Hours of Training in such subjects as Anatomy, Physiology, Teaching Methodology, Class Sequencing and Asana Technique.

She will be Certified and Nationally Registered to teach both Fitness
and Classical Styles of Yoga, and will have completed almost 250 hours
of Training, more than double the number of hours required to be spent
under the direct supervision of Studio Owner/Teacher Training
Program Director, Kate Healy Dykes.

 Her hard work and dedication have paid off,  as she is a talented, able and compassionate Teacher of Yoga.  Morgan will be regularly teaching our Thursday Night Beginners Class (6-7:15pm), every other Tuesday Night Low Back Pain Relief Class (6-7:15pm), and one Saturday Morning per month (8:45-10am Fitness Yoga & 10:30-11:45am
Level I Beginners Yoga). 
 She will also be available for Private

Jason Taylor

 Jason Taylor is a native of Tennessee who works in the family business, Taylor Homeworks, Inc.,  here in Martin. He has been married to his wife Jennifer for 27 years and has two sons Spencer and Hendrix.
Jason found Yoga in 2013 as a way to treat his own aches and pains.  In 2015, he met Kate through her Classes at UTM. The previous years of Yoga fell into place under her guidance and skill.  Jason joined our Yoga Alliance Registered 200 Hour Teacher Training Program in April of 2014,
and he will be Graduating with Honors this January 2017, and joins Morgan Insco as one of only a handful of Nationally Certified  & Registered Yoga Instructors in all of West Tennessee.

In addition to countless hours of required Martin Yoga TT study, and many additional ‘Assisting in the Classroom’ hours (above and beyond what was required for Graduation), Jason has delved into the Internationally Renowned Vini-Yoga Tradition, arising from the late great TVK Desikachar and Gary Kraftsow.  Jason has also taken a great deal of extra time to conduct an in-depth review of the unique Anusara System of Yoga Anatomy.
Jason enjoys the way Yoga brings together strength, flexibility and balance for both Body and Mind. He hopes that people will leave his Classes understanding that Yoga is not just for the flexible and that the benefits of Yoga can travel with a student for days.  He draws from his own history of back pain and dysfunction in planning his Classes, bringing a fabulous gentle flowing synergy of Movement & Breath that relieves pain and enhances well being.
Jason will be leading a new SloFlo Class on Wednesday Evenings, beginning January 4, 2017:  5:30-6:45pm.  This Class is appropriate for All Levels, and will be especially appropriate for those who are working to reduce chronic low back pain.  Jason will continue teaching on a rotational basis on Saturday Mornings, along with Morgan & Kate.
